So. . . This Is New York?

So. . . This is it. It’s Officially Day One. And we have started off things right. We arrived in the City last night around 5ish and got off of the bus with all of our stuff. As soon as we had checked ourselves in to the hostel, I grabbed a group of people and went down to Central Park with my frisbee (we still had about an hour of daylight left, and I was ready to move around after about 10 hours on a cramped bus).

After that we came back to the hostel and ate some Ne w York Style Pizza, with slices as big as your face. All of the students are here that are going to be and there are probably around 100 students total. Josh and I are the only 2 from CSU in our room, and we’re with a group of  guys from UNC Chapel Hill. All of which are tight. We spent most of the night last night showing off videos and pictures to each other. These are some pictures taken by a guy named Anderson. . . pretty legit! I can assure you we will be working together at many times throughout this week.

so there is my update for ya’ll. Today we have a orientation on what’s gonna happen this week. then we are going to Redeemer Presbyterian, the same church that Tim Keller preachers at, but of course, he’s in London. . . lame. anyways, here are a couple pictures just for ya’ll. I hope you have a wonderful week, and please continue to pray for us!!!

So here is another post, I get a feeling that no one will be reading this. I have been working pretty hard on a lot of videos and other things. . . here is just a taste of one of the more recent videos. It’s a short promo for an improv night we had at CSU last week. I didn’t edit or film, but the group of us all collaborated equally on this video.

I hope you all enjoy the video. I think that it is hilarious! let me know what you all think!

July 8

Okay, So the site is practically finished. I’ve been working on it for a couple days and I’m sure that it’s not perfect. I’ve been learning more and more things about WordPress and how awesome it is. I hope that everyone likes it.

Today I’m gonna talk about the importance of money. I have been attempting to come up with money in order to go to school. Luckily I have enough in order to take classes, but I don’t have enough in order to live on campus. This presents a problem for me. I wanted to be an RA this upcoming year but I can’t. I hear that a lot of other schools pay their RA’s more than a quarter of their room and board (which is what my school does). obviously that’s not a lot of money. I would love to be paid full room and board like most schools provide, but I can’t manage to come up with the other 3 quarters of the room and board. Now I feel bad because I am kept from being an RA due to not only my refusal to take out any more loans but also the school for providing insufficient payment for their RA’s. It sucks. I am still trying to find that extra 5,000 dollars, but as of now, it’s probably too late to get it for this school year. But if anyone wants to hook me up and just hand me 5,000 dollars, I would very much appreciate it!

Anyways, I am still excited about my opportunities. Life as usual as soon as I get back to Charleston. Joshua Gale and I are going to be working on a documentary for a surfing friend of ours. Super excited. I’ve made plenty of videos in the past and pride myself on my editing abilities. But I have never made a documentary, especially not one about surfing (something that I have yet to experience). I really pumped about making this movie. It will take all semester and we have a lot of people who want to get involved. I will for sure keep everyone updated on it and what happens. But that’s all for today. hope  ya’ll enjoyed reading about it!

P.S. if you want to see some fireworks from this 4th of July, check them out on my Flickr.
